Yom Kippur and The Song “Give”

Saw my wonderful teen students yesterday and played the song, “Give” by Leann Rimes.

It is perfect for Yom Kippur! I had the students listen to it first with the lyrics printed in front of them, then we discussed it. There is so much meat in this piece including a confession. Most of the kids told me they liked it, then toward the end of class, they wanted to hear it again and sing along.

It is wonderful to have to have so much to choose from in the secular music world and be able to apply it to our Jewish values, or values in general.

Look up the song, you will see what I mean.

Time to finalize everything for this evenings Yom Kippur/Shabbat Service including my voice.

Again, Shabbat Shalom and G’mar Chatima Tova.
