I Believe I Can Fly

I am so looking forward to my time with my tweens and teens tomorrow for music! We are going to take a break from instrument families.

The students have been asking me to bring in the song, “I Believe I Can Fly”, by R. Kelly on my Ipod. I will integrate the lyrics with some of their obstacles, and as well English (vocabulary), expressing themselves, and listening skills.

On American’s Got Talent’s last show of the season LeAnn Rimes sang a song called, “Give.” It is perfect for Yom Kippur. There is so much meat we can talk about!

I will let you know how the classes turn out!

If you have any song suggestions for me, or any other suggestions regarding teaching music to children, leave me a comment! I would love to hear from all of you. If you have any questions regarding what I am doing, ask away! I like to share.
