Great First Day

What a wonderful first day of music classes today! It was weird that I was a little nervous. I have no idea why! But, it was great! Got to my first school this morning, and everything the awesome, the good vibes, the smiles on the children’s faces, and the smiles on the teachers’ faces. In the infant room there was a beautiful one year old baby who was booty dancing almost the whole time I was there! Every time I was done playing and singing a song, she would cry!

My second school was super. This year I am in one room for most of my classes. I took in a music questionnaire that the students had to fill out. It has questions like, “Do you play an instrument and if so which one? What is your favorite kind of music? What is your favorite radio station?” There were many more questions. In one particular class, most of the students would have difficulty writing the answers, so we did it orally together. It all went very, very well. I explained that we are adding to the music curriculum with learning about different types of music and instrument families. The kids were very receptive.

I am exhausted. I guess it will take a couple of weeks of me getting use to the schedule especially since I am working longer hours at a couple of my schools, and have an additional school. I am not complaining! 🙂

So, a great day today!
